Amy Biddle

National Council on Strength and Fitness Personal Trainer Certification

I am a lifelong horse lover and equestrian athlete. I retired as a medical technologist to follow my dream of becoming a horse trainer, a personal trainer, and a yoga instructor. I have competed several horses in Dressage, winning multiple year-end and series awards, including first level with “Letter to Elise” at the 2003 Virginia State Horse Champion Schooling Shows. I have also competed in numerous 5K, 10K, 15K, 10 mile and half marathon races. Physical fitness and strength training have positive effects on my riding and I am excited to share this with others.

Family and our health are of utmost importance to me. I want to be there for my family so sometimes you have to think about yourself first to make sure you can take care of home and the needs there. I love engaging in outdoor activities and spending quality time with family and friends. I have played various sports, and played volleyball in college on scholarship.

I specialize in training and my passion is strength training. I am an active figure competitor and have placed first in my division, most recently in 2018. I love all sports and activities outside during warm weather. I also enjoy gathering river rocks for landscaping and target shooting.

I started doing Pilates at Powell as a member, and pursued certifications in order to be able to help others find the happiness and the wellbeing it brings to their movement and lives. I am married with two daughters, two grandsons, four dogs and a cat. I love reading, gardening, being outdoors and Pilates.

I served in the military for eight years as a training instructor. I enjoy traveling with my family and being outdoors. My favorite activities are golf, tennis and snowboarding.

In 2010, I lost over 50 pounds to be a better role model for my children, and went from couch potato to distance runner. I started teaching small group fitness in 2011 (circuit training, TRX, kettlebells) and have helped women, like myself, start their own wellness journeys. I am excited to help you find your own fitness, and celebrate you!

I live with my husband, kids, and menagerie of pets in Madison. I enjoy running, and have completed over a dozen half marathons and four full marathons. I am also a voracious reader, love to sing and play my ukulele, and participate both on and offstage in community theatre.

My motivation to support others with their fitness goals stems from my own personal journey: to address some health concerns, I lost 115 pounds through diet and exercise and am now driven by my passion to “pay it forward.” I firmly believe that you too have the power to achieve your own health and fitness goals.   When I’m not in the gym, I enjoy being active outdoors through biking, kayaking, and paddle boarding.

I am passionate about helping people reap the benefits of exercise and physical activity and achieve their best work-life-fitness balance. I have several years of experience teaching group exercise classes. I have competed in various sporting events such as distance running, open water swimming, and an Ironman® distance triathlon. I also coach the Culpeper Barracudas summer swim team in the Jefferson Swim League. I’m excited to be working as a certified personal trainer to empower people with enjoyable, maintainable exercise routines, personal encouragement, and support!

 

Lindsey Morris

B.S. Athletic Training, George Mason University (GMU)

My studies for the GMU Athletic Training sports medicine degree encompassed the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions and included more than 1000 clinical hours. I believe the human body speaks its own language and I am passionate about helping you best understand yourself. I loved studying sports medicine and it brings me joy to share that knowledge with others, as I help clients improve their health and fitness and work toward their goals.

My specialty as a trainer would have to be orthopedic conditions, although I’m comfortable with any medical condition or challenge a client may face. I love working with clients on push-ups, squats, and lunges. These exercises are dynamic and help us to accomplish a lot, while allowing me to learn about the client. Their form tells me about their fitness and helps me to identify areas for improvement.

My family is my world and I’m with them when I am not at work. I’m all about my 2-year-old son and husband. I love the beach, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and enjoy playing tennis for fun.

Seasoned in several endurance sports such as racing in the complete spectrum of running distances (including ultramarathon), competitive mid-to-long distance swimming, and long-distance casual cycling, Joseph stands firm on the belief that the longevity game is essential for one’s active life. Emphasizing a low-stress lifestyle and finding joy in whatever activity is chosen makes the entire process easier. When not in the gym, Joseph enjoys spending time with loved ones, board/card games, playing music, and being active through hiking and trail running.
