Registration open for group swim lessons!
New sessions for group swim lessons kick off in August & September: available classes include Parent & Child, Preschool and Learn to Swim levels. These lessons are open to the community. Please review information at the link below. Registration for the August-September session closes August 4. We look forward to welcoming our new “swim students” to the pool!
The following classes will be offered in PWC’s indoor warm water pool: Parent & Child (ages 6 months – 3 years), Preschool Aquatics (ages 3-5 years), and Learn to Swim (ages 6 – 13 years). Classes for children support the needs of never-ever swimmers as well as young swimmers progressing in their skills. Our learning environment focuses on learning skills in a fun way while also focusing on water safety – important knowledge for swimmers in order to help themselves or others in an aquatic emergency.

Family swim sessions
Members are welcome to join a family swim session currently available on Thursdays and Fridays at 3:30, 4:30 and 5:30 pm, as well as Sunday at noon and 1:00 pm. There will be a Family Swim session on Tuesday, May 31, 5:00-7:00 pm. Please register for your family’s choice of splash time through the member portal online!
Beginning in June, registration will no longer be necessary. In June, new Family Swim days and times will be Tuesday, 5:00-7:00 pm; Friday, 4:00-6:00 pm and Sunday 12:00 noon-2:00 pm. Become a volunteer for our new Rock Steady Boxing program! Your support will contribute to the success of program participants fighting back against Parkinson’s disease.
We are offering a Rock Steady Boxing exercise program for individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease (PD). This unique program, established in 2006, improves the ability of people with PD to live independent lives.
Community members with Parkinson’s disease, their family members and caregivers are invited to an open house on April 29, 1:00-3:00 pm, for PWC’s Rock Steady Boxing (RSB) program (a non-contact boxing based fitness curriculum designed to improve the quality of life for people with Parkinson’s disease) and monthly Parkinson’s support group.
Energy Medicine Yoga is a special program offered at Powell Wellness Center by certified EMY instructor Annette Hyde. The program is offered quarterly, in alignment with wellness needs that occur with seasonal change. The summer session focuses on calming anxiety and...
On Thursday, June 23, 2022, Powell Wellness Center will be a host site for the World’s Largest Swim Lesson (WLSL) from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm and offer an introductory swim session to adults and children.

Members of Powell Wellness Center members and their friends and family are invited to participate in Walk 10K, an annual worldwide walking challenge that will take place May 9-15.
