Fundamentals of Tai Chi
Fundamentals of Tai Chi is an 8-class program to learn and develop 18 postures of the Yang Style Form. The program is open to the public and is offered at PWC with Buddy Jett, the lead instructor for Floating Cloud Tai Chi in Orange. Buddy teaches Cheng Man-Ching’s Yang style 37-posture form of Tai Chi combining relaxation with precision of movement.
Depending on personal health goals and interests, Tai Chi may serve as a standalone practice, or added as a complement to other fitness pursuits. Participants will build knowledge each week to grow their Tai Chi practice. Participants should be able to do movements from a standing position during each 1-hour class. New students are always welcome!
Current program: January 7 – February 25, 2026, 6:00 – 7:00 pm. (make-up class due to weather, March 4)
Next program: March 25 – May 13, 2026, 6:00 – 7:00 pm
Program fee: $90/members, $165/non-members.

I’ve enjoyed the Tai Chi program (second time taking it) and am glad it has been continued to be offered at PWC. Unlike previous local programs I have taken, this class delves deeply into the movements and their effects on mind and body. It’s slower and doesn’t offer the full form, but even the “first third” is challenging. People underestimate the difficulty of doing Tai Chi properly, yet it offers so much in terms of health. I appreciate this instructor’s deep knowledge. -A program participant
