World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™

The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson is back at PWC! Join our water safety instructors on Thursday, June 25, 1:00 3:30 pm for this free fun event! Since 2010, more than 448,000 children have participated in this global event!

WLSL is a worldwide campaign to introduce kids to swim skills and promote water safety. Research from the American Academy of Pediatrics shows that the risk of drowning can be reduced by 88 percent if children participate in formal swim lessons between the ages of 1 and 4. We are excited to again participate in this important event to increase awareness of the importance of swim skills and water safety awareness.

WLSL at PWC is a fun introductory experience for ages 3 and older (adults included) with our center’s swim instructors to encourage development of potentially life-saving swim competency and water safety skills.

Registration: Please contact PWC aquatics and fitness program manager Karen Irvin, kirvin@culpeperwellness.org or 540-445-5383. Spaces are limited.

The event is free.

Please note: Our supply of US Coast Guard approved life jackets is limited. All non-independent swimmers should bring their own, size-appropriate life jacket or have parent participation within arm’s reach during the event. Arm floaties are not permitted; life jackets only.

**The aquatic arena will be open to event participants only during the event. We appreciate our members’ accommodation of this closure.
