The past month has been one of great uncertainty and many challenges. It is unsettling to see our facilities empty and silent. We long for the day when the treadmills are whirring, the pool is full of people and tennis balls are bouncing on the courts. It can’t come soon enough. We imagine you feel the same.
We hope that you have taken advantage of the many online and recorded classes that our staff has made available to you over the past several weeks. They are a dedicated group that wants to be sure you stay healthy and fit!
Yesterday Governor Northam extended his order that keeps non-essential businesses closed through May 8th. That includes fitness facilities. While we hope to open on May 9th, that will depend on further direction from the Governor and our ability to implement operating procedures that will keep you, our staff and our community safe.
We will continue to waive membership fees until we reopen.
You may not know that despite the loss of any income during this unprecedented closure, the Foundation has continued to pay all staff their regular wages. We value our staff greatly and know that it is their expertise, passion and commitment to health and wellness that makes PWC and CSF special. We are proud that we have been able to support them – taking away at least one worry – during these difficult times. And, we know that they are eagerly waiting for the day when we are open and they can see you again.
Over the past few weeks several members have asked if they could continue paying their fees, or make a gift, to help support the staff. Those generous inquiries have been greatly appreciated. If you’d like to help, please click here to make a tax deductible contribution to support our fitness staff during this challenging time.
Please continue to take all recommended precautions to stay healthy and slow transmission of this nasty virus! We hope to see you very soon!
