Jena Savadsky Griffith has joined Powell Wellness Center to support nutrition services for members.

Jena’s own health journey led her to experience the life changing benefits and power of nutrition. She had unknown food allergies as a child and was frequently on antibiotics for illness treatment. By the time she reached her 20s, she had become allergic to common foods such as oranges, chicken, bread, vegetables, and eggs, and had constant stomach pain, severe hair loss, skin issues, extra weight and chronic fatigue. 

After going to doctors for years, she finally found an excellent and compassionate registered dietitian and physician willing to look at her condition in a different way and get to the root cause.  She began reading every nutrition and health book she could find and fully committed to getting better by changing her entire diet and lifestyle. Over time, she regained her health, eliminated all food allergies, and has greater energy now than when she was younger.

Jena’s own health experience inspired her to change careers, and she left a successful career in television and music production to pursue nutrition.  She knew that improving lives and health with nutrition and lifestyle changes was how she wanted to spend the rest of her professional life.

Jena received her BS and completed her dietetic internship with a nutrition education concentration at the University of Northern Colorado. Before that, she earned certifications from the Institute of the Psychology of Eating and the Institute of Integrative Nutrition that enabled her to practice as an Integrative Health Coach. Jena has maintained a private nutrition practice and serves as the lead nutrition instructor for Albemarle county’s community education program. Jena is also the editor for a nutrition newsletter called The Integrative RDN and frequently writes, presents, and teaches about nutrition’s transformative power.

For more than 15 years, Jena has immersed herself in research and education in the fields of health, wellness, nutrition and fitness. Her mission is to compassionately support, educate and inspire people to lead energetic, healthy and joyful lives. She will empower you, as she has many others, to make permanent, positive changes in your life.
