Held in the GPX room on Tuesdays at 4:30 pm, BODYPUMP (developed by Les Mills) uses light to moderate weights with lots of repetitions to deliver a full body workout for all fitness levels.
Start with weights that feel light to you, or even just a bar. Modifications are available; for instance, you also may use dumbbells or weight plates for the exercises. Your fitness and strength will grow over the weeks as you add more weight and become comfortable with the class routine. According to the Les Mills website, “this program is based on the “rep effect,” a proven formula that exhausts muscles by using light weights while performing high repetitions – that is the secret to developing lean, athletic muscle.”
